Our Farm was Featured in Farm and Dairy!

Farm and Dairy Feature

Sarah Donaldson contacted me by email on March 3rd this year, requesting a visit so that our farm could be featured in Farm and Dairy. She said “I heard about your farm through the Livestock Conservancy a while ago – it sounds like you’re doing some interesting work with preserving heritage breeds…” Obviously, I feel incredibly honored that she chose my little flock for such an article.

It took a few tries to get the farm visit scheduled due to weather and our crazy Lambageddon. Sarah came to the farm on April 20th. We walked to the barn, across our pastures, and then just stood and chatted while watching the sheep graze. I was happy to talk with Sarah about NSIP, the Livestock Conservancy, our St. Croix Hair Sheep, and my approach to conservation breeding. The Katahdin bottle babies made nuisances of themselves, but Sarah was patient with them … and their nibbles. It was an enjoyable afternoon and I couldn’t be happier with the article.
